And On New Year’s Day We Rest.

Curious Inspiration. Snore and Guzzle is one of my favorite websites. Its creator, Michael Neault, describes it thus: “Snore & Guzzle is a private press started around 1999 by Michael Neault (who happens to be writing this brief history). Normally, we are stationed in a small town in Central/Western New York State, but at the moment, we are currently on the move. Portland, Oregon is headquarters at the moment. At Snore & Guzzle, our principal interest is story telling, and story listening. Storytelling, that is, in all its multivarious modes and manifestations. As a press, we print mostly short-form fiction and creative non-fiction. As a website, we collect and share the most interesting things we can possibly find. As a cooperative, Snore & Guzzle is composed of: red striped straws, birch bark, sinkholes, vanilla bean, india ink, concord grapes, glacial meltwater, dimples, calluses, fresh cream, bassoons, brushes, a handful of moist loam and all my bright, crackly friends. The name is drawn from a very long book written by an author who wrote only one book, and then disappeared.”
Every so often Michael puts together a podcast of tunes that reminds me of the great friend at college who always had the most interesting mixtapes. Here is his latest:

After you have listened to this, go back and listen to all the rest. Enjoy.
